The Executive Management

Each Department in EDSA has a Manager who together with the Director General and the Deputy Director General makes up the Executive Management. The Executive Management includes:

1. Chief Executive Officer

Chief Executive Officer is the Director General that manages the day-to-day affairs of the Authority and is answerable to the Board of Directors

2. Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Deputy Chief Executive Officer is responsible to assist the Director General in all the activities of the Authority.

3. Human Resource Development and Administration Manager

Human Resource Development and Administration Manager is responsible for all matters concerning staff and the administration of the Authority, including Social Security, Recruitment & Training, Staff Welfare, Vehicle Maintenance and Asset Management.  It is made up of the following sections:

  • Head of Payroll and Pension
  • Head of Admin

4. Financial Controller

Financial Controller - Manages the finances of the Authority's and preparation of Financial Statements, including Management of Stock and Revenue Collection. Its sections are:

  • Financial Accounts
  • Management Accounts

5. Corporate Planning & Projects Manager

Corporate Planning & Projects Manager - Responsible for management of all infrastructural development projects that the Authority may undertake; compilation of all relevant technical data that may be required by stakeholders, and procurement of works, goods and services for the Authority. The sections are:-
  • System Planning
  • Procurement
  • Projects

6. Information & Communication Technology Manager

Information & Communication Technology Manager - This department is responsible to institute and install appropriate systems (applications, automated business information systems etc) within the Authority. The sections are:-
  • Business Systems Applications
  • Database Administration
  • Support and Maintenance Services

7. Technical Services Manager

Technical Services Manager - This department deals with the core business of the Authority, which is provision of safe, reliable electricity supply. Its sections are as follows:
  • Sub - Transmission & Distribution
  • Safety and Environment
  • Provincial Services

8. Legal Adviser and Corporate Secretary

Legal Adviser and Corporate Secretary - This department is responsible for providing advice on all legal matters, as well as representing the Authority when the need arises.
  • Public Relations
  • Debt Collection

9. Commercial Manager

Commercial Manager - This department is responsible for Customer Service. It deals with installation and maintenance of meters, revenue collection and generally ensuring that customers are satisfied with the service they receive. The sections are:-
  • Billing & Data
  • Customer Service
  • Prepaid Metering

10. The Internal Audit

The Internal Audit - This department is responsible for ensuring that risk controls are implemented and adhered to so that losses are kept to a minimum or mitigated, i.e. Technical, Financial and Commercial losses. The sections are:-
  • Internal Control and Compliance
  • Technical Audit
